Reel 4 ballbearings, quickfire, large line guide, front drag, smooth action, perfect match for the rod. Some Combos skimp on the rod or reel not this one, first rate all the way. I have 4 other 6' rods; I like this one the most. Buy a second and take a friend fishing.

TO MY SURPRISE IT WAS, AND AT THE SAME PRICE; ONLY DIDN'T HAVE TO PAY TAXES AND SHIPPING AND WAS USING IT IN TWO DAYS!!!!! JUST CAME BACK FROM VACATION WHERE I WAS ABLE TO TRY IT OUT. (More customer reviews)I got this as a scratch and dent item for 50 bucks.one of the star points on the drag wheel was broken.Its o.k. I was wanting a baitcaster (cheap) to see if I would like one being as I never used one before.I still get the occasional birdsnest.The reel feels good but I'm still deciding if I like the matching rod.I'm leaning toward not as sensitive a rod as I would like but its not heavy and I can literally fish for hours with it and not get fatigued. I have caught a couple nice sized Florida bass with it.
