(More customer reviews)Bought this model as a pier and jetty rod.Have paired it with a Daiwa Regal Plus BRI 3500 to make catching whiting, pompano and blues more of a challenge.It's been getting a lot of use as a Surf rod for my 2 & 3 year old kids.It will cast up to 3oz well.The biggest my son has caught was a 16" Blue on it and he reeled it in himself.I'm currently looking for the 8' model for his 3rd birthday.Good rod.Have not had any problems.Bite detection is awesome.It will probably handle the bigger fish with finesse.But for a just out fishing rod it works.
